Siberian Leaders’ Conference held in Omsk

In Russia

OMSK – On December 13 and 14, the Siberian Federal District Leaders’ Conference was held to conclude the 2024 year of intercessory prayer.

The key verse was: “Therefore everyone should understand us as ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. But of the stewards it is required that each one prove faithful” (1 Cor. 4:1, 2).

The main messages were devoted to intercessory prayer, faithfulness to God, which is impossible without faithfulness to people, faithfulness to prayer and consistency.

Bishop Vyacheslav Matveychuk, Senior Presbyter of the Association of Churches of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, opened the conference with the theme “The Prayer of the Righteous”, which he continued on the second day. He spoke about the faithfulness of prayer and the three components of the character of the righteous: faith, humility and compassion, which strengthen prayer.

Bishop Sergei Potapov, Senior Presbyter of the Association of Churches of Altai Krai and the Altai Republic, shared a word about intercessory prayer, which requires dedication and is symbolized by “standing in the breach” for people. And on the second day, he reminded us that faithfulness is under attack and makes us like the Father when we show it despite doubts, fear and the loneliness experienced.

Speaking about faithfulness, Oleg Bulkin, senior pastor of the Kovcheg (Ark) Church of Sochi, gave the example of Ruth and emphasized that faithfulness should not depend on conditions, but should be a part of us always. “And the eyes of the Lord watch over the faithful,” the preacher said confidently.

Bishop Alexei Kobelev, Senior Presbyter of the Sverdlovsk Association, sharing his experience and vivid examples, urged to take the pain we once experienced as an opportunity to reach the heart of our neighbor. And Alexey's closing word was about perseverance in good deeds, which reminded everyone of the importance of patience to achieve great results.

Conferences are held not without the opportunity to ask questions to spiritual leaders to get answers to their concerns, and this conference was no exception. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions anonymously and hear edification from pastors.

There were two days of unity with brothers and sisters in prayer, worship, and edification with a profound word. It is a time of renewal in faithfulness to God, diligence in the work being done. We thank the Lord and everyone for participating!
