New Testament Church in Perm Celebrates 25 Years of Rehabilitation Ministry

Social

On June 20, the rehabilitation ministry of New Testament Church celebrated its 25th anniversary in the village of Vetlyany, Perm Region. Around 250 people gathered for the occasion, including graduates of recovery centers from different cities across Russia, ministry workers, mentors, volunteers, and friends of the ministry.

The theme of the celebration was “I Made a Choice.” For many participants, these words reflect a deeply personal story. At one point in their lives, they made a decision that helped them leave their former way of life behind, begin the recovery process, and start a new chapter.

Among the guests was Olga Kataeva. For twenty years, she struggled with alcohol addiction. After completing a Christian recovery program, her life was transformed. In time, Olga began helping others facing similar challenges and spent many years serving in a recovery center for women.

There are thousands of stories like hers throughout the ministry’s 25-year history.

During the celebration, participants reflected on how the ministry began and expressed gratitude to those who stood at its foundation, built recovery centers, mentored participants, and supported them on their journey toward a new life. Special appreciation was expressed to mentors, ministry workers, and program graduates who now help others overcome life-controlling struggles.

Over the past quarter century, thousands of people have been impacted by the ministry. More than 7,000 individuals have achieved long-term recovery and returned to healthy family, work, and community life. More than 600 families have been restored or established. Many people have also received assistance in restoring personal documents, finding employment, and reintegrating into society.

The anniversary was not only an opportunity to look back on the journey of the past 25 years, but also to remember why the ministry continues today. There are still many people in need of support, hope, and a chance for a new beginning. The recovery ministry continues to serve those who are ready to make a choice for a new life.
