IZHEVSK – The annual youth conference for the Volga and Urals Federal Districts was held in Izhevsk on March 24-26.
For three days about 400 young people from 34 cities and very different and distant parts of the nation — from Moscow to Miass and from Orenburg to St. Petersburg — attended the event.
This year the conference was called “In One Spirit” and the organizers, together with the speakers, introduced the topic of unity and cooperation between churches, ministries and youth pastors.
Sergey Bobylev from the Church of Christ the Savior (Blagoveshchensk), Vladimir Batalov from the Philadelphia Church (Izhevsk), youth leaders Eldar Sangatullin from the Holy Trinity Church (Miass), Daniel Sayfullin from the Loza Church (Nizhny Novgorod) and the regional youth ministry coordinator of the Sverdlovsk Regional Association Daniel Kobelev from the Love of Christ Church (Asbest) ministered at the conference.
There were a variety of workshops, interviews and discussions on topics: youth and the future of youth ministry, social work, street evangelism, personal relationships with God and how to hear Him, a workshop for brothers “The Power of the Call”, as well as a girls party “The King's Daughter”.
The traditional creative contest at the end of the first day was a memorable one: vocal recitals, poetry, dancing, theater and even a live saxophone — everything was of the highest level and it was very hard for the audience to choose a winner.
A great conclusion to the second day of the conference was praise and worship led by the iota worship of Izhevsk.
One of the guest speakers at the conference was Kirill Shniakin, author of the blog “Street Pastor” from Orel. On the third day of the conference he held a practical workshop on how to evangelize in the streets, resulting in a prayer of repentance by 4 young people.
The special feature of the conference was that the participants could present their youth ministries: First Love (Nizhny Novgorod), ZIONYOUTH (Asbest), YOUTH ministry (Orenburg), MOVING FORwards (Kirov), ZODI (Blagoveschensk), the youth ministry of the Holy Trinity Church (Miass), the youth ministry MOGU (Izhevsk).
We believe that each of the participants learned something important for themselves and will apply it in their lives. Praise God that the conference took place and the youth from the two large federal districts could be together again!
