Children’s Sunday School opened in the town of Essoyla in Karelia

Children

The town of Essoyla is located on the Syamozero Lake in 70 km from the capital city of the Karelia Republic in the North-West side of Russia. About 3,000 people live here. There is only one public school and one vocational school in this town. Some children attend New Life Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith.

For them the church opened Children’s Sunday School.

On October 6, children from the church invited their friends to the first lesson, so that they could hear about God. Kids received their own copies of colorful children’s Bibles. The verse to memorize was John 3:16,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…”

The verse was not finished because kids were given a choice – to believe in Him and have eternal life or not. We want children to think about this choice and continue to attend the Sunday School to learn more about Jesus and have relationship with him.

Older kids in church planned games for younger kids, and hosted the event. Sisters baked pies and treated kids. It was a great tea party at the end. All children went home happy and smiling. And it remains for us to pray for them and many others that live in our town, that they and their parents would be saved through Jesus Christ.
