On July 14, 2013 our "One Year for Jesus" team of 4 people went on an evangelization trip to the village of Podgorny Bailar of the Tukayevskiy district. We left for the village at 8:00 a.m. Upon the arrival we prayed and asked for the Lord’s blessing before sharing His Word.
At the beginning people were very open receiving new testaments, some even took bibles for their relatives and friends who live in the city and go through tough times.
Further on, we realized that other people did not want to see us. They would say they couldn’t even talk to us. We didn’t understand the reasons, but soon we found out. A man stopped us. He happened to be the head of the village council. He said that we should not give out the books there. The man was not disposed towards us at first. But after a conversation with him, he even blessed us to go and distribute the books among the villagers. He even showed houses where Christians lived.
So we went on. Some people did not accept the Gospel, and some did showing interest and asking many questions. On our way we met a woman who we struck a conversation with. She was very open with us. She told us about her life and how she put trust in God and the Lord helped her. Her heart was very open to God, but she did not believe in Jesus. We told her that only through Jesus we have salvation. Jesus died for us on the cross. He accepts all who come to Him with a sincere heart and repent. She said her son was ill, and the doctors could not cure him. We showed her the Scriptures on which she could base her prayer to Jesus in order that her son would be healed. We told her that God could heal him.
Please join us in prayer about this village and the people who heard the Word of God and received the new testaments.
