On June 19-21 evangelistic team of the Risen Christ the Savior Church from Kansk using an offroad vehicle (Russian GAZ-66) visited remote villages of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (Central Siberia). Evangelists visited villages of Batov, Bolshaya steppe and Makarovo, where they presented the Gospel to every home. On the way they passed three other villages - Noviy, Kanaray, Shelomkee - and there they did not miss the opportunity to preach Christ, to give out New Testaments, and to pray for people.
These villages are located away from big roads and highways, and people out there are hungry for the Word of God and for simple conversation. There were those who rejected the good news at first. But after talking with the team members more, they opened their hearts to Jesus. Some of the villages were large with many villagers, and others were small, almost deserted. But everywhere there were precious souls whose hearts were open for the Lord.
The team members shared their impressions: «A lot of people were very surprised at our arrival, because to those places visitors come very rarely. Our team went from door to door preaching the Gospel, giving out Christian literature and New Testaments and prayed for people. Among them were those who repented and accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. In one house we met an old man Alexander Philippovich. It turned out that we had come to visit him on his birthday, and at the age of 72 he accepted Christ into his heart for the first time in his life.
We had many impressions on this trip. On one hand, we saw the devastation of the Russian villages, abandoned homes, poverty, drunkenness, but, on the other hand, we met a lot of nice, hospitable and open to the Good News of Christ people. Many of them opened their homes for us, gave us food, tea, helped when we needed to repair our vehicle.
Now we are planning the next expedition and over and over again we read the words of our Savior: «Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are white and ready for harvest.»
