MOSCOW – Russian and foreign political, public, cultural, religious figures, diplomats, businessmen and government officials gathered on November 19 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Moscow for a joint meal.
The organizers — the Foundation for Assistance to the Revival of Spirituality “National Spiritual Meal” — chose “Christian spiritual values in the family and society” as the theme of this year's National Prayer Breakfast.
The purpose of the National Spiritual Meal is to provide informal communication and interaction between different groups of the public united by common traditional and moral values.
Speakers talked about Christian, moral and family values, paying attention to the institution of the family as a place of their formation. Many reminded about the important role of religion in the formation of spiritual and moral guidelines.
Eduard Grabovenko, the Head Bishop of the Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith, took part in the event. Among other evangelical unions leaders he addressed a welcoming speech to the participants of the national prayer breakfast.
