According to media reports, an unknown gunman opened fire in Perm State University, killing and injuring many people.
Eduard Grabovenko, Head Bishop of the Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith and lead pastor of the New Testament Church in Perm, expressed condolences to the families and friends of those killed in the shooting at Perm State University.
“A terrible tragedy occurred in Perm today. Young, innocent people lost their lives. On behalf of the Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith (Pentecostals) we express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims. We pray that the Lord will support and strengthen the parents who have lost their children.
Such tragedies show the enormous vacuum of spiritual and moral values in our society, which like salt keep it from decay. We must stand in prayer that God would keep us and our children and our society from all evil and decay.
As the Bible says, “they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind” (Rom. 1:28). In their search for pleasure, enjoyment, and fame, people become disillusioned and hurt and harm others.
We urge all believers to pray more for our nation, for its repentance before God, for the restoration of values,” said Bishop Eduard Grabovenko.
Tomorrow at the New Testament Church of Perm there will be a meeting of pastors and leaders of the Perm Association. Ministers will pray for the families of the victims and the speedy recovery of the wounded. Bishop Grabovenko urged believers to donate blood for them. On September 21, churches in Perm and the Perm region will join in the mourning declared by the government of the Kama region.
