REVDA – At the end of February, couples at the House of the Living God Church of Revda participated in a special event dedicated to strengthening marriages and renewing romance in relationships. Participants shared memories, learned how to resolve conflicts and worked on keeping love alive.
“Children are happy when parents are happy. To preserve love, you need, first of all, to put God first, and also remember how everything started, how you fell in love,” emphasized Olga Antsiferova, one of the organizers of the event, revealing the key principles of a happy family life.
In today's world, where marriages often break up, initiatives aimed at supporting family values and strengthening relationships are of particular importance. The “Renewing the Senses” event is not just entertainment, but a practical tool for spouses seeking harmony and a long life together. The importance lies in providing an opportunity for spouses to stop, remember the feelings that brought them together, and learn how to resolve difficulties.
The “Renewing the Senses” program consisted of three blocks.
“Remember everything”: the spouses shared memories of their first dates to their favorite songs performed by the soloist of the church Elena Gushchina, which helped them to feel again the romance of the beginning of the relationship.
“We live, we live”: this block was devoted to practical skills of conflict resolution and the ability to compromise. Married couples participated in contests and received homework assignments aimed at improving mutual understanding.
“Flower of Love”: a mini-scene by organizers Olga and Damir Garipovs, embodying the value of family, turned into a master class where spouses wrote wishes for each other on the petals of a daisy, and then exchanged these ‘daisies of wishes’. The task involved the gradual fulfillment of the wishes written on the petals. The block ended with a dance of five couples.
The participants of the event delighted the guests with musical numbers in between the blocks.
“To keep the covenant, you need to be faithful and invest in emotional intimacy,” emphasized Iolanthe, leader of the women's ministry, speaking about the importance of constant work on relationships. Pastor Andrei Vladimirovich Polyakin added: “A covenant is an unshakeable decision.”
“To keep love, in addition to faith, you need to remember how it started, how you fell in love. To keep love, you have to be able to raise the white flag in time and learn to resolve conflicts. You need to work purposefully and work on your relationship, taking care of each other and fulfilling each other's wishes,” summarized Alexander and Ksenia Poslukhaevs.
The event left the participants with a feeling of inspiration and new tools for building strong and happy family relationships.
