KALININGRAD – On February 14, a regional women's conference entitled “Faithful in Small Things” was held in Kaliningrad. Nearly two hundred girls and women from Kaliningrad, Sovetsk, Baltiysk, Pionersky, and other cities and towns in the region participated in the event.
This year, the conference placed a special emphasis on the topic of women's ministry. Participants discussed how to learn to hear God's voice and find their calling, how to remain faithful in small things in order to be ready for something greater, and the habits that shape our spiritual lives.
Inna Nikitina, head of women's ministry at the Emmanuel Church, welcomed the numerous guests. She talked about how the church in Kaliningrad was founded and about the continuity of generations. In many ways, it was precisely this quality of faithfulness that made it possible, despite the oppression of the Soviet years and the difficult period during the collapse of the Union, to preserve families, the church, and relationships with God.
“Faithfulness is constant and hard work. It is very important to lay this foundation from an early age in order to withstand the storms of life,” said Inna Leonidovna.
The key speakers were Larisa Grabovenko, head of the women's ministry of the Russian Christian Evangelical Church, and Natalia Koksharova, coordinator of the Sunday school at the New Testament Church of Perm.
Larisa Grabovenko spoke about the calling of women, each of whom God has given their own tools for ministry, just as He did the heroes of the Bible: Moses received a staff, David received a sling and stones, and Mary received a jar of precious myrrh. It is important that all these tools, talents, and gifts are called to build the Church of Christ.
“Sometimes we think about something great. But what God expects of you may already be close to you. It may be a lifelong ministry, or it may be a single, but important, deed. As we go through life's trials, we draw closer to our calling: talents are revealed in difficulties because it is during such times that we especially seek God. At the same time, each of us is called to evangelize — to share what is most precious in us so that as many people as possible may come to know the Lord,” noted the speaker.
Natalia Koksharova spoke about how to maintain joy and peace in your heart during trials. The speaker shared her personal and profound testimony of how the Lord led her through trials when doctors diagnosed her with a serious illness. In an amazing way, this difficult time became a period of spiritual growth, renewal of faith, relationship with God, and victory in Christ.
Master classes were held on the same day. Ministers shared the word on how forgiveness frees the heart, how to deal with feelings of loneliness, and practical advice on how to find one's calling; they spoke about motherhood and family business. A separate section was dedicated to young women, where speakers shared the word on wisdom.
