Two of the ten villagers accepted Jesus as their Saviour

News & Reports
- One Year for Jesus team of the New Testament Church in Kudymkar makes trips not only to large towns of the Komi-Perm District, but also to small ones, where they sometimes find just a few houses. To one of those places the team went on the last day of winter. In the village of Lopvador there were only four houses and no more than 10 people. As a result of the literature distribution in the village, two women reconciled with God, accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

One of them was Maria Makarovna, 83 years old. Simple village woman worked all her life on a farm. Now she lives alone, her husband died long ago. Her house is warm and cozy, simple, clean, with self-made mats on the floor. Maria Makarovna does the work about the house herself. Sometimes her son, one of 10 children, helps her. He lives in a nearby village and often visits her.

It was nice to talk to Maria Makarovna. Although a few days before our first meeting one of the sons had passed away, we didn’t hear any grumbling or resentment against God in her speech. She believes that she needs to honor God as best as she can. She prays before meals, making crosses. But she said that she had never read the Gospel. We prayed with her for salvation and gave her the Word of God.

On the advice of her son, we decided to visit her as time permits, and continue our conversations. We came back in one week, and found out that she had read the Gospel, and it was all clear to her.
