KALUGA REGION (RUSSIA) - One afternoon Zoya Sergeyevna, a pensioner who lives in the Kaluga region, was as always busy doing her daily chores in the yard. On that day, she had to stack firewood. She knew that there was no way she could get help, and so she quietly fetched several logs and stacked them in the woodpile. Then she saw young men who were passing by her house. They saw that she needed help, and offered to help her. Zoya Sergeyevna was reluctant to agree to their help because she had no money to pay. But the guys said they would do it for free. Zoya Sergeyevna was surprised and agreed.
This was her first introduction to the One Year for Jesus team from Kaluga Grace Church. While working they struck up a conversation about life, destiny, eternity. Everything the guys shared was new to Zoya Sergeyevna, and she seemed to be very interested. No one has ever told her about God and the salvation that He gives, in such a simple way. A few days later she came to the home group for new converts, where she was invited by her new friends, and there she accepted Jesus Christ into her heart.
