PERM (RUSSIA) - Round 3 of Children’s Bible quiz, which all participants looked forward to, was held at the New Testament Church of Perm on June, 4. This time children from churches of Kachkanar, Solikamsk, Tchernushka and Perm took part in the quiz. Children showed profound knowledge of the Bible, answered the most complicated questions (questions for 30 points awaited them this time!), displayed smarts and erudition.
We should note that children eagerly prepared for the round. To quote a verse from the Bible and name the chapter and number of the verse can be challenging even for an adult!
All participants were awarded with honorary certificates and sweet gifts. The 4th place was given to Varvara Gorbunova and she was granted a nice colouring picture, the 3rd place was given to Igor Tetyuev and he was awarded with a tabletop game, the 2nd place was given to Anna Vershinina and she was granted a free ticket for a teenage hike, and the 1st place was given to Egor Tetyuev, he was awarded with a free certificate to children’s store and a free certificate to participate in men’s hiking trip with brothers from the church.
As Egor, the 1st place winner, said, with his knowledge he wanted to glorify God. As it is said in verse 31 chapter 21 of the book of Proverbs, Egor, as well as the other kids, was “preparing the horses for the day of battle”, but the victory from God was prepared for him. Egor shared that every evening they read the Bible as a family. Obviously such reverent attitude to the Word of God helps children to grow in faith. And of course the purpose of the quiz was to encourage kids to study the Bible and make this process exciting and interesting for them. We could tell by the shining eyes, their responses and sincere emotions, that it worked well.
