Andrey and Tatiana: «God saved my life and delivered from sorrow»

Stories
KRASNOKAMENSK (TRANS-BAIKAL, RUSSIA) - Andrey and Tatiana are a young couple. They are in their 30-s, raising twin-girls in Urulyunguy town of Trans-Baikal Territory. But before they met each other, Andrey went through many trials.

He grew up in an orphanage. From his early age he began to drink alcohol and smoke. After his graduation from the orphanage Andrey continued to be on the racket, which finally led him to being announced in the federal wanted list. He went on the run. Winter caught him in Ugolnaya community near the city of Vladivostok. There he spent four days and nights basking on the bank of the river, burning planks from an old, abandoned boat, all the time wondering: ”God, do you exist? If you do, please, help me.”

On the fifth day he was approached by an unknown man, who invited him to warm up. It was his first time when he met Christians, who gave him shelter and food. Over the next six months, Andrey actively participated in the work of a local evangelical church, however he did not have his personal encounter with the Lord, and he did not pray the prayer of repentance.

The federal wanted list was still on, he was caught flatfooted, was arrested and taken to the court in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Surprisingly, Andrey got into the train and was placed in the compartment. He asked his convoy, a police officer, why he was placed in such a comfortable compartment, the man replied the following: “You probably do not remember me, I was fourteen at that time, I was attacked by a crowd of boys in the yard of our block of apartments, they were threatening me to beat black and blue, but you, Andrey, interceded for me.”

In Priargunsky District Court of the Trans-Baikal Territory, two men were convicted and sentenced to prison. Andrey was connected to the case as a witness. By the grace of God he was released from the courtroom.
God did not leave him there. Andrey found out about his mother and his own brother who were living in that area. Miraculously, he was able to find his brother, who offered him to move to the village Urulyungui. There he met his future wife Tatiana, together they bring up beautiful twins.

Andrey knew exactly who saved his life and delivered from tribulations; they both gladly opened their hearts to the Lord, with a sincere desire for forgiveness Andrey and Tatiana prayed a sinner’s prayer. As soon as they learned about new church being planted in their town they offered their house for services.
