ST. PETERSBURG (RUSSIA) - Mar 25 – The 5th prayer breakfast was hosted at the Summer Palace near St. Petersburg. Classic interiors and a solemn atmosphere of the event stressed the significance of the event in the life of the northern capital. The national morning prayer is a civic social event that is held by evangelical churches of Russia, and in particular of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. Traditionally, the prayer breakfast becomes an open meeting place for officials and representatives of religious and social organizations, where in a relaxed atmosphere people can build a dialogue to address the most pressing social problems.

This year the speakers paid particular attention to the national unity. In their speeches they called for responsibility to unite the nation. The speakers underlined the importance of the church, which is able to unite people of different nationalities and with different views.
