SYKTYVKAR – On May 22-23rd, in Syktyvkar there was a conference devoted to 26th anniversary of the Source of Life Church. The speakers at the conference were Head Bishop Eduard Grabovenko, bishops Pavel Kudrov and Alexander Tsvetkov.
Pastors of the Source of Life network of Komi Republic Grant Burnadze, Ivan Butarin, Arseniy Prokushev and Anatoly Potapov preached at the conference.
On behalf of the Minister of National Policy Roman Noskov and Galina Gabusheva, Deputy Minister of National Policy of the Komi Republic Vyacheslav Popov congratulated the church. Vyacheslav thanked the church and its parishioners for everything they do for the city and the republic: “You are doing the right thing — educating the younger generation. The situation now is not very good with family education and education of moral values. But the church brings good, kind and eternal things into the minds of our generation. I think that our republic will do well — the Lord Jesus is always with us”. Vyacheslav wished the church prosperity, development, wished well-being to its parishioners and guests.
At the opening of the conference Eduard Grabovenko preached. The speaker explained how a believer can fulfill God's calling. “God takes our shortcomings, our infirmities, and turns them into God's blessing”, the Head Bishop clarified.
A word about “Not Vain Grace” was shared by Pavel Kudrov. “Grace is the power that helps us to do God's will and fulfill the calling the Lord has given us”, the minister emphasized.
Alexander Tsvetkov preached about victories over mistakes. “Mistakes are an inevitable phenomenon of human nature. And it is more correct to treat them not from the position of probability, but from the position of conscious regulation of the consequences and work to prevent”, summed up bishop Tsvetkov.
The children's and dancing groups of the church performed at the conference, the hearing impaired people sang a song, and the invited creative group showed a Jewish dance.
The conference ended with a praise and worship service, which was led by a guest youth worship team from Perm, LiveWorship.
The congregation rejoiced together, sang songs of praise, prayed and celebrated the birthday of the church.
