Rostov-on-Don church began to broadcast services online with interpretation into sign language

In Russia

ROSTOV-ON-DON – Christ the Savior Church of Rostov-on-Don began to broadcast Sunday church services online for acoustically challenged and surdomute people.

The ministry has been existing in the church in different formats for many years already. The surdomute people now have an opportunity to take part in church services along with other people thanks to the sign language interpreter. With the advent of new technology they receive more and more opportunities to study the Word of God.

In December of 2018, the first live broadcasting of the Sunday church service with sign interpretation took place. After several trials the broadcasts became regular. They have become an innovation not only for the local church members, but also for many Christians in Russia and Former Soviet Republics.

“During the last 1,5–2 years the ministry to the acoustically challenged and surdomute people at our church has become better orderly, — says bishop Vladimir Khvalov, senior pastor of the Christ the Savior Church in Rostov-on-Don. — Thank God, we have a team that does that job. Of course, we’d be happy if all our church members are healed of all troubles, but before that happens, we see a great need to minister to the acoustically challenged people. Unfortunately, I know of just a few churches where the ministry exists. I’ve seen such communities in Moscow and at some churches in Israel. We want hearing impaired people to have a chance to be built up by the Word of God along with all of us, and I believe that such online broadcastings will facilitate that”.

Everyone interested are welcome to watch Sunday church services with sign interpretation online, in full HD format every Sunday at 10:00 on YouTube channel: youtube.com/hristosonline.
