DZERZHINSKY (RUSSIA) – “Called, beloved, kept by God” women’s conference gathered 300 women from Moscow and Moscow area in Dzerzhinsky on October 14. Nicely decorated hall, standing buffet, small gifts, wrapped nicely, created the atmosphere that prepared women’s hearts for accepting the Word. It was a wonderful opportunity for each woman to be Mary, not Martha with her routine responsibilities. Sisters in Christ of different ages, marital status and professions were united. All of them were the same – created of ribs to be helpers, and it was easy to be themselves and talk openly about their own weaknesses, to listen and accept the answers.
Through such unique but equally beautiful in their faithful love for Christ speakers – Lyudmila Panasovets, Elena Khuda and Larissa Grabovenko – God has touched every heart. Practical, protreptic and personal, visually presented word from each of them was inspiring. They captured the audience with their own example, talking about a woman’s call, the beauty of humble and silent spirit, and about the act of faith. And of course the prayer for sisters has become a special blessing and has changed every one. Sisters in Christ who had never sung at a church, started to praise God in unity. Others were willing to remain in God’s presence, stayed in their places in fellowship with God long after the service. God was at work with each one, and was acting differently.
Such events are a need, they allow sisters in Christ to biblically “encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 {to be} sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands…” (Titus 2:4-5). And how wonderful it is to spend a day among women and then return home and see the wisdom of the Creator in a new way, to see that He created this world amazingly, and placed us among men.
