CHISINAU (MOLDOVA) - “Micah” International Organization’s Conference took place on April 8 and 9 in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. The conference was held for churches and social ministries of CIS, for Russian-speaking audience.
The Russian Church of Christians of Evengelical Faith was represented by Alexei Ivshin, head of the rehabilitation ministry department and Alexander Panushkin, regional representative of the social ministry in the Central Federal District.
Guests came from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus and Russia. There were lots of chances to have fellowship and build new connections.
A comprehensive mission of church was deeply approached at the conference. The “Micah” ministry is based on a statement that love is action.
“He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8).
Jesus provided food to the hungry, healing to those suffering, clothes to the undressed, and only after that He preached about the Kingdom of God. Jesus came for the people who need salvation. And saving them is not just acquiring their souls for the future Kingdom of God, but even today of earth: saving the poor from poverty, an orphan from loneliness, the sick – from their sicknesses.
The Church of Jesus Christ is a congregation of people who are forgiven, who are not indifferent and care to solve financial, social, intellectual and spiritual problems of the society. A mission of integrity is when the Christians in any area become missionaries.
Church exists in community and for community that needs God. Church should consider its ministry in the context of the community. It cannot be taken out of the community, just like a verse cannot be taken out from the Bible.
The Mission of the Church is to change the environment. The church should manifest the love of Christ to the society by actions.
We hope that communication of the Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith with “Micah” ministry will continue for the sake of more productive social ministry work in Russia.
