DOMODEDOVO (MOSCOW REGION, RUSSIA) - It happened that 49-year-old Nickolay has survived the death of his two sons – one drowned, the other commited suiside. His third son is in prison. Overcoming the pain in his heart, Nickolay is trying not to show strangers his sorrow.
This was the man that our team met. Listening to him, we certainly understood that loneliness and disappointment were hidden behind that mask. Nickolay was hiding his grief in alcohol. Far being from well-fed and contented man as he tries to appear before others, Nickolay gets whatever people give him while helping local traders at the market.
It turned out that our great desire to help a person get out of this hole was not enough. Unfortunately, he did not agree to go to a rehab program. But “what we have, we give” – the Apostles did so – we prayed for the salvation of Nickolay, he called upon the name of the Lord and invited Him into his life. Once again, we saw the power of the Holy Spirit, who removes all masks by His touch – the saved man got tears. We praise God for the salvation of souls. When we were leaving, every one of us felt heavenly joy because of one saved man.
