DZERZHINSKY (MOSCOW AREA, RUSSIA) - Recently we distributed bibles in Dzerzhinsky. People were reluctant to talk and often reacted negatively as if we were handing out anything but the Word of God. When we went home, sad to learn many new things about ourselves, we saw an elderly lady. One of our brothers offered her a copy of the New Testament. Her eyes lit up and she started asking questions. Sergei gladly replied to her, saying that the Gospels have all the answers, and she began to cry. Sergei tried to calm her and asked, “Do you want to be in peace with God, because He loves you?” She said, “Yes.”
She repeated the prayer of repentance. Our brother told her about the church, and that God was always waiting for us. This helped to change my mood right away. I realized that even if only one person among a hundred responded to the call of Christ – it is for God’s glory. The lady started attending the church. When I see her, I realize that everything we did that day was not in vain.
