YB (KOMI, RUSSIA) - One Year for Jesus team of Syktyvkar Source of Life Church held a series of social events in the late December 2015 and early January 2016.
In the village of Yb in Komi Republic there is a social rehabilitation center for children whose families are in a difficult situation, and children left without parental care.
The team members organized two events for children. Before the new year, they held a Bible study and gave children books of biblical stories. Children learned to make handicrafts, played games and received gifts.
A week later, there was another meeting of children with team members. At this time, they all went to a cynological kennel in Syktyvkar, where Siberian Husky are bred. Children will remember for a long time dog sledding, and what they learned about this noble breed: that these dogs are smart, loyal, devoted and very neat. The trip ended with a delicious pizza in a cafe and the presentation of Christmas gifts.
On January 9, members of the One Year for Jesus team visited a hospital in the town of Ezhva. In the emergency department, they met with patients diagnosed with freezing injury. Many of them were homeless people. Our evangelists heard sad stories of lives, told the patients about the One who gave His life for everyone of them to live and glorify the Creator. Those who realized their need in Savior, prayed the sinner's prayer and received the Gospel of John as a gift and the latest issue of the newspaper “Christian Syktyvkar”.
