Our work is not in vain

ST. PETERSBURG (RUSSIA) - Sometimes when we do evangelistic outreaches, on one hand, we feel joy, realizing that we fulfill the will of God, bringing salvation to people, but on the other hand – there is fear and doubt, – what if no one will listen to us.

On June 20, team of the New Testament Church in St. Petersburg held an outreach in the streets of the city. Dozens of people opened their hearts, telling us about their difficulties, they shared their opinions about faith, about life with God and finally prayed the prayer of repentance. We even met a French citizen, who also was willing to hear the Good News and prayed sinner's prayer.

All of a sudden, a woman ran up to Katya Samoilova, one of our team members, and asked, if she remembered her. It was evident that the woman was overwhelmed with emotions, she was very happy to see Katya and wanted to tell her something. One year ago at this same place, being in despair, she met Katya and allowed her to pray for her and her unborn baby. The young woman was pregnant and physicians projected that her baby would be born with disabilities, and besides, her husband wanted to leave the family for this reason.  A year later, we see the result of those prayers: God preseved the family, the child was born healthy. The words of the Bible are true: “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16).

There are so many more people to reach in St. Petersburg, and towns of Leningrad region, we believe that the Church can bring salvation and God's presence to every home. May God bless everyone who faithfully serve Him!
