Open doors for the Gospel

News & Reports
ST. PETERSBURG (RUSSIA) - On May 17, 2014 a joint team of Morning Star Churches of Gatchina and St. Petersburg and Hope Charity Fund held a football match in a prison “Yablonevka”. The football game was not the main purpose, although by organizing this match, we tried to attract more attention to the message that we brought. Our main purpose was to preach the Gospel in this not so joyful place – there are a lot of grief, anger and frustration, many people suffer from mental pain and discouragement. We had an opportunity to tell them about wonders that God performed in our lives, to tell them about the love of God, which is available to all people, whatever they did. And that His salvation, healing and forgiveness of sins are for all who want their lives to be changed!

10 days later, on May 27, the three of us came back to “Yablonevka.” This time we were allowed to worship the Lord, and each of us shared his testimony with the guys who came to the meeting. Ten people came tforward at the altar call, prayed for forgiveness of their sins and accepted the Lord as their Savior! We prayed for their spiritual growth and strengthening of faith. Praise the Lord that He has opened the doors of this prison to preach the Gospel!
