BAIKAL REGION (RUSSIA) – July, 2014 – Despite a hot summer, evangelists from Chita follow their schedule. Whether it’s hot or rainy the ministers meet with people and share God’s Word. They organize outdoor games for children, preach the Gospel and promote healthy lifestyles.
Vladimir Vairakh, a deacon of the ‘Salvation in Jesus’ church, who leads the evangelization ministry, tells about some current events:
"In July, we visited the Khilok village and remote village of Arenur which is located 120 km (75 miles) from Khilok. We visited each house and met each person there. We told the villagers about God and gave each of them a copy of a Christian magazine called ‘Choose life’.
Then our team was divided into two groups. One group stayed in Khilok, the other went to the village of Menza, located in Chikoyskom district, near the Mongolian border. The population of the latter village is about 600 people. 200 accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord.
Next stop was in the village of Ukyr where we went on a boat by the river Menza. 400 people live in the village. We visited every house.
Along the river there’s also a village of Shonuy. It has 200 residents. We stopped by and gave Bibles to everyone there. Then we drove back to Chita.
The purposes of the trip were to share the Gospel and to fellowship. We talked a lot, discussed various topics, learned to be frank and open with one another, prayed a lot, and God strengthened us.
