KRASNOYARSK (RUSSIA) - On August 28 and 29, 'The flame of God' Conference with Bob Sorge, a famous preacher, pastor, teacher and writer took place in Krasnoyarsk“The idea of holding this conference came during a conference with Bob in Novosibirsk last year, – said a presbyter of the Krasnoyarsk Association of the Pentecostal Union of Russia Maxim Usachev. – I, myself, have previously been to two conferences with Sorge, and have always been impressed by the depth of his teachings. We were looking forward to his arrival, and our pastors and ministers received an incredible encouragement and strengthening of the Holy Spirit.”
At the conference, Bob preached on the blood of Christ, boldness to come into the presence of God and the perseverance of prayer. The leitmotif of all the sermons was to find a deep, sincere and close relationship with God, and the ardent desire to pray and see the answers, by which God's will on this earth is celebrated.
Bob Sorge is an author and itinerant speaker. In 1992, he suffered a vocal injury that caused his voice to be reduced to nothing more than a faint whisper. As a result of the injury, he is only able to whisper for an hour each day before the pain forces him to be silent. Before the injury occurred, Bob was a senior pastor and worship leader. As a result of the vocal pain and weakness, he was forced to resign after serving his church for 13 years. Since that time, God has led him on an unexpected journey as a minister in the body of Christ. Through his personal suffering and the desperation of his own pursuit of Jesus, God has given him a message that empowers believers to find God’s redemptive purposes in the greatest trials of life. The conference was attended by over 600 people, among whom were pastors and ministers of Pentecostal Churches from 28 cities and districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as representatives of 10 churches of other unions and associations.
The conference is one of the first large-scale conferences of Krasnoyarsk Association, which took place in Krasnoyarsk. Until last year, all the important conferences were held in Kansk. According to one of the organizers, pastor of the Salvation in Christ Church in Krasnoyarsk Dmitry Dolgopolov, churches actively helped in organizing and conducting the conference: 30 volunteers gave their time and efforts, so that it would be held at a high level. Their efforts were not in vain, as the participants were quite content with the conference.
On August 30, Sunday, Bob Sorge ministered in two churches in Krasnoyarsk.
