Five days fasting in the Orenburg association of pentecostal churches

In Russia
ORENBURG (RUSSIA) - “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what. (Philippians 3:13). This was the motto of the annual five-day fasting in the Orenburg association of churches. More than two hundred people from different parts of the Orenburg region gathered for prayer and fast. There were guests from Perm; pastor of the Harvest Church Anatoly Moklyak from Kostanai (Kazakhstan) also participated in the gathering.

It was held in a picturesque location in the middle of the steppes and mountains – there we found a small oasis - a recreation center near the town of Novotroitsk. From July 20 to 24 it became the promised land with “milk and honey flowing” to all participants. It was an unforgettable time. From early morning till late at night, for five days music teams from different churches praised God and led brothers and sisters in worship.

A lot of time was devoted to the Word of God: preaching, reading, prayer, fellowship with brothers and sisters. Lack of cellular network was a special blessing: we were able to leave all the problems and cares behind and plunge into God's presence. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20). And in fact, there was a real feeling that God walked among us. Several people during these days made a covenant with God: they received water baptizm. Thank God, that every year there is a possibility to “reset” our life in God. Many thanks to the pastor of the Good News Church of the city of Orsk Andrew Khamitov for organizing this special event.
