SYKTYVKAR (RUSSIA) - On February 20 and 21, Source of Life Church od Syktyvkar held the 5th Regional Men's Conference that gathered men from all daughter churches of the Source of Life network in the Komi Republic.
The speakers of the conference were: Bishop Pavel Kudrow (Source of Life Church, Syktyvkar), Pastor Pavel Huda (New Testament Church, Perm), Pastor Anatoly Potapov (Source of Life Church, Vorkuta), Pastor Andrey Anferov (New Testament Church, Uralsky of Perm region).
With a sermon on consecration Pastor Anatoly Potapov opened the men's conference. He spoke about the importance of not simply to be called Christians, but to reveal it by our lives. In other words, to deny ourselves and conform to the image of Jesus Christ, so that everyone can see in you the reflection of God's glory.
The second day of the conference started with the preaching of pastor Andrey Anferov. He talked about maturity. God has saved us, and He does not want us to stop only at salvation, but to grow and mature by following Him every day. Looking at the example of Daniel, we need to learn to take responsibility for our lives. Because our life can impact thousands of other lives. And the sooner we become mature, the more opportunities to serve God we will have. However we cannot become mature in one day, it is a process. In this process, it is important to give all spheres of our lives to the Lord.
In the second service, Bishop Pavel Kudrov preached about a fate. “Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's fate is from the Lord,” – said wise Solomon. And the fate from God is very good. Because there are two fates: one – from people, the other – from God. A story of Jabez, whose name means “pain”, “problem”, “misunderstanding”. His mother gave him this name, but Jabez cried out to God and He blessed his life. All we need to do is, firstly, to know the Word of God and follow Him, and secondly, conquer fear, which prevents us from entering our destiny, and thirdly, to stop living a double life, compromising with sin .
In between the services a field kitchen and sprots competitions were organized for the participants.
The conference conclided with Pastor Pavel Huda's sermon, who spoke about the power of love. By themselves, we as people, are very weak against the circumstances of our lives. We need to learn to find strength in the love of God, that means – to come to the Lord and call upon Him in all circumstances. We need God's love in order to forgive, to overcome injustice, because the love of God covers all.
The conference was filled with God's presence. Ministers prayed for men with anointing them with oil, releasing the power of God in the life of each and blessing them. We believe that this conference will bring much fruit for the Kingdom of God.
