Christmas for children in Pskov

In Russia
PSKOV (RUSSIA) - At Christmas time, Emmanuel Church of Pskov, arranged a charity performance for children from poor families and families of refugees from Ukraine. Eight years in a row the church in Pskov organizes a charity project called 'Christmas Child' at Christmas time.

More than a hundred children gathered to see the story of the birth of Jesus Christ through a theatre production. Program was prepared by children's ministers, youth and teenagers of the church. Some kids have heard about Jesus and even had been at the festival. But there were those who learned for the first time that Jesus Christ was born on this earth to save all people. Children learned that our Lord loves them no matter who they are and forgives any sin. After the presentation all the children, even babies participated in workshops. Children and their parents made Christmas decorations, and had tea together.

At the end of the program, each child received a gift in a beautiful box (which was lovingly packaged for them. It included pencils, paints, colored pens, toys, knitted hats, socks, mittens, Christian books). Such gifts were collected specifically for Christmas by church members. Thus the Church helps families and children in need. Many of them came to the house of God first time. They were surprised by the fact that the church can carry out such projects. They heard the Gospel message that Jesus Christ changes hearts. Bishop Nicholay Zalutskiy wished all parents and their children Merry Christmas.

During these holidays the actors will visit Demyansk orphanage, as well as the city of Veliky Novgorod and will organize a Christmas festival for children, so that they could hear the Christmas message. We thank the Lord, the church and all who participated in this wonderful project.
