The ‘Church on the Rock’ of Novokuznetsk celebrated its 84th anniversary

In Russia
NOVOKUZNETSK (RUSSIA) - On Sunday, June 22 the ‘Church on the Rock’ held a special service to celebrate the date of its founding. There is no exact date when the church was established. But some archive documents point to the year of 1930.

Eight separate meetings which regularly take place in different districts of the city every Sunday are combined into one solemn assembly on this date. Each summer the church comes together in the open air to worship and glorify God. The senior pastor’s address to the church, a water baptism witnessed by the whole church, the combined choir, numerous guests, a large group of brothers and sisters from the daughter churches - all this makes the church-wide service a joyous celebration of unity.

Andrey Khoroshenko, the senior pastor, spoke on the vision of the Russian Church to plant new churches. He urged the parishioners to to grow spiritually, to be looking for the lost, to develop new ministries, and to do missionary work.
