Urgent call to prayer for peace and unity

Official releases
MOSCOW (RUSSIA) - Sept. 4, 2014 - “…and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. (2 Chr. 7:14)

Beloved Brothers and Sisters,

Following Christ we often face challenges, feel tremendous oppression and see attempts of the enemy to destroy the unity and brotherhood relationship among our nations and churches. Today we see unprecedented tension between two Slavic nations. We witness the clash of opinions. We believe that our Christian faith is the only way to unite us and bring peace into hearts and lives.

That is why we are calling all churches in Russia, Ukraine and all over the world to join in fast and prayer September 15 through 22, 2014. Let us in unity before our God plead for His mercy, that we do not lose the harmony in Christ.

It is not our intent to support anyone’s point of view but our desire is to restore the unity in Christ who has all the answers to all the life questions. Let us stand strong for the brotherhood in Christ. Without it we cannot fulfill His perfect will on this earth and present ourselves as one nation before Him.

Brothers, let us not be led by circumstances. Let us always remember that first we are God’s people. Our fathers imparted to us faith and unity that they had kept and not allowed the enemy to destroy. Let us follow their steps.

With fervent prayers,

Edward Grabovenko
Head Bishop
and the Board of the Russian Church
