Head Bishop Edward Grabovenko urges Christians to pray and fast for peace

Official releases
I would like to share some thoughts on the situation in Ukraine. Just recently, none of us could have imagined that we would live in a time when tensions between the brotherly nations and churches reach such a high level, and multi-polarity of views and opinions would be so painful in the hearts of people. Today, more than ever, we need to pray for God's understanding of the situation, His grace and guidance, we need to trust more in the Lord and serve more diligently to those whom He has entrusted to us.

Starting from August 13, every Wednesday until the end of the month, let's fast and pray together for the events taking place around us. Let's intercede for the Church, so that God would give us wisdom and humility to prepare ourselves for the encounter with Christ. Let's pray for the principalities and powers, so that God would bring the right advisors and give them wisdom from above – fate and lives of many depend on these people.

Scripture tells us that people will live in anticipation of future disasters. Today we see that people lose confidence and hope for the future and economic crisis, spiritual and moral decline are rampant, and only God can bring everything in order in our land. I don't think that any of the people have the answer to the situation in the south-east of Ukraine. I believe the Lord has all answers.

I urge you to pray for peace and solution of the problems in Israel, Ukraine, Nagorny Karabakh and other places where blood and tears are being shed. There is no higher gift on this earth than the life given by God. We as a church should value this gift and petition before the Lord for peace and security in our land. May God help us!

"Again, I tell you, that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Matt. 18:19)

With prayers,

Edward Grabovenko
