Edward Grabovenko Re-Elected as Head Bishop of RCCEF

Elections for the office of Head Bishop took place today in Moscow, preceded by reports from the previous Head Bishop Edward Grabovenko and members of his Board regarding their 4-year term.

There were four candidates who ran for the office: bishop Anatoly Boyarchuk, bishop Nikolay Zalutsky, bishop Victor Filyk and the current head bishop Edward Grabovenko. During the program presentation, V. Filyk and N. Zalutsky withdrew their names from the elections.

The procedure was done by open voting. Out of 74 members of the Council, 70 were present, so there was quorum and elections were legitimate. 60 members voted for Edward Grabovenko, 9 voted for Anatoly Boyarchuk, 1 abstained, which means E. Grabovenko was elected by a sweeping 85% of votes.

According to the amendment to the by-laws of the Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith incorporated in 2013, head bishop’s terms is extended to 7 years.
